I've moved with my missus several times and we've always split things equally too - generally 98%/2% in her favour. Mind you my 2% includes the TV and remote. I went the other direction, both in age and location of dwelling. New townhouse in Santa Clara. I remember when we bought our first place, when I was still living up in Sacramento.
